2017 was filled with some unforgettable moments. Many of them we’d like to forget. The BBC realized it needs to pay their interviewees more money to afford reasonable broadcasting studios. Don’t remember? Now you do. Decades ago a man from Portland ignored normal brain function and nearly went blind staring at the sun for an extended period of time. Well last year, as we approached “The Great American Eclipse,” the media declared our country completely incompetent and lacking all intuition when they felt the need to bombard us with countless articles detailing the harmful effects of staring directly at the sun. (Exhibit A Exhibit B Exhibit C) Another disappointing headline in this country was when the USA Men’s National Team stunningly found a way to not qualify for the World Cup which is happening right now – so what do you watch instead? Our advice is to continue watching more of whatever you normally watch; in other words, still not soccer.
BUT there was one amazing event that took place in 2017 worth remembering. Actually, there were several. For example, you celebrated a birthday! You enjoyed a delightful dinner at your favorite restaurant with the chef who cooks that dish you love so much! You also bought a pair of jeans that really makes your butt look good! And not that we don’t care about that stuff (okay, you caught us, we don’t), but there was also a birth that will go down in the history books. We aren’t talking about Prince George or Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. We’re referring to a clean birth. No doctors needed. No hospital or midwives – no sanitized products of any kind! In fact, it was quite the opposite. Hygiene took a break. Proper meals were put on hold. Everything normal was paused while three very different personalities came together with a common vision to bring a unicorn baby into this world. This baby would forever be known as T!LT, spelled with a red exclamation point because we have something to say, dammit! (see what I did there), and she he it was born on July 1, 2017. It was a beautiful, sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. Actually it may have poured that day (is that the day Braiden’s car was hit with the hail damage?). We can’t really remember because there were a ton of late nights and early mornings along the way; but we do know there was weather that day.
It’s been quite the roller coaster to get to where we are now but there’s one big question that needs answered: Are we happy we did it?
You’re damn right we’re happy. Now we get to play shuffleboard and foosball when we’re not stuck in meetings. We get to stick our hands into the vending machines and attempt to grab the chips on the lower level without judgment. When we’re not brainstorming creative or building production schedules, we can sing kumbaya and have philosophical conversations about why the chicken crossed the road.
Okay. A quick break from character. We are very happy with the decision we made. We are ecstatic about our future. In just one year we have done more than we could have ever imagined. We have built a business, a growing business, with a team of passionate people who are disrupting a marketplace with new ideas and fresh, innovative ways of connecting people to messages, brands, and products. We are proud of what we are building and we’re doing it with some of the greatest talents in the world. We are privileged to support some of the country’s most influential business people and some of the most brilliant minds on the planet. We love what we do. We work with iconic brands. We get to inspire people and make them feel good about their jobs and their lives.
Again, we LOVE what we do. Our passion inspires our work. Our clients’ passion for their businesses fuels our tenacity for excellence in every way. And if you’re not already getting T!LTed, we hope to create something special with you soon!
